My Background
Jennifer is the co-founder and Executive Director of The Dragonfly Harbor, Inc. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Louisiana. Jennifer has a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University. Jennifer has attended trainings in both human trafficking and trauma, including training on using the INTERVENE assessment to identify victims of trafficking. Jennifer has been working in the field of trauma for over 8 years. Jennifer had several years of experience working at a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program. She has also worked with court ordered clients and hospitalized clients. She has worked with treating adolescents living in a residential care setting. Jennifer previously built and oversaw a trauma based treatment program for girls with sexual abuse and sexually reactive behaviors and issues. Jennifer has also volunteered her time to educate law enforcement on human trafficking and trauma issues. She has volunteered to teach psychoeducational trauma classes to human trafficking victims in our local community.
Jennifer has worked in the private practice setting for the last several years providing mental health and trauma informed counseling. She has worked primarily in the area of trauma as well as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, parenting and adjustment issues. She has experience in collaborating with other organizations such as DCFS, OJJ, FBI, CASA, FINS and the courts in order to insure best care for a victim.
She currently accepts some major insurances including United/Optum, LHCC, and Healthy Blue. We currently offer in person and telehealth services.
